In October 2018, FINRA rolled out a new streamlined examination process for professionals in the financial securities industry, broadening the career opportunities for those who certify. This exam is the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam and is the new standard.

TCC Corporate Solutions & Economic Development, in partnership with Cerifi, offers an asynchronous review program for the SIE exam prep. Upon passing the exam, scores are valid for four years. All business majors should consider taking the SIE course, even if you are not ready to move on to the SIE exam. This course will prepare you with the industry knowledge you needed to get your dream job.

This sector has undergone tremendous change and transformation over time, continuing to meet the needs and demands of consumers. Similarly, the education and training needed by financial services professionals has evolved over the years to stay relevant and up to speed with the industry. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) is an independent, nongovernmental organization that writes and enforces the rules governing all financial service professionals working in the U.S. To become registered by FINRA, professionals are required to pass qualification exams to demonstrate competence in their industry.
